Poetry on this site was written by my brother, James R. McElwee. James, known throughout the Anthracite Coal
Region of Pennsylvania as "Mac", died on Easter Sunday, 1998, six months before his 65th birthday.
"Mac" was the owner of Mac's Hoagies, a Shamokin, PA landmark for the past 25+ years. The Hoagie Shop is now
owned by his widow, Nancy.
