Len Eshmont, known as the Atlas Antelope and the
Fordham Flash, was married to cousin Hannah Boyle of Locust Gap. Len was born and raised in Atlas, PA, a small community outside
of Mt. Carmel, PA.
Len attended high school in Locust Gap (Mt. Carmel
Township High School) and he was a standout football player. Len moved on to Fordham University and later to the Professional
ranks. He scored the first running touchdown for the newly formed San Francisco Forty-Niners.
The Forty-Niners still utilize the Len Eshmont
Award.
